Duvets vary in their softness, level of warmth and weight. Available in an array of sizes, shapes and fillings, three things to decide upon when choosing a duvet is its tog rating, your bed size and type of filling. Its tog rating can extend from a lightweight summer version of between 3.0 - 4.5 tog through to a warmer, cosier feel. The two main types of duvet are natural or synthetic filled.

Natural filled duvets are made from duck feathers and down, goose down, or a combination of both. Giving as much warmth as a natural feather filled duvet, synthetic duvets can incorporate a vast array of filling types including polyester or polyester microfiber, memory foam, gel, latex, or a combination of fillings.

Although not designed to have the same lifespan or durability as a mattress, a good quality, comfortable pillow can significantly reduce any neck, back or shoulder pain experienced when sleeping. The two main types of pillow fillings are natural and synthetic. Natural filled pillows will keep their shape and level of support for longer than synthetic, and synthetic pillows incorporate visco or memory foam, latex, gel or fibre-filled; or any combination of these.
