Open spring double mattresses are as popular today as they have ever been. A good quality, inexpensive option, coil sprung mattresses are used widely on children and adult double beds.

Constructed from springs that have been arranged in rows, the open spring interior is connected via a spiral helical wire and then strengthened and held in tension through an outer perimeter rod. This process helps the mattress retain its shape and makes for an extremely durable design.

Varying in the number of open springs contained within the double mattress, the tension also differs depending on its gauge (thickness).
