To get the best possible night’s sleep so we look and feel at our best, The Sleep Council recommends we consider changing to a new mattress about every seven years.
Considering we spend a third of our life in bed, a good mattress is a serious investment – it aids deeper, more refreshing sleep and gives your body better support.
So, is your mattress up to scratch?
Myers Beds have been a particular favourite with shoppers here at Dalzells for many years, offering exceptional value and pillows full of that most important commodity, restful sleep!
Here at Dalzells we stock a wide selection of Staples Beds and they’ve been hugely popular with our customers for many a year.
They say you can never have too much storage. How right ‘they’ are! For anyone with a small bedroom finding space to store away clothes, bed linen and, where kids are concerned, toys, can seem like a constant battle.
Bed manufacturers have cottoned on to this problem by coming up with some innovative ways to making your bed work for its money. By incorporating drawers, ottoman-style storage and hidden compartments within the bed frame, storage beds free up valuable space in the bedroom.

Most adults need between six and nine hours of sleep every night and yet almost two-thirds of us suffer from sleep problems.
“Buy the right bed and you could be buying into night after night of quality sleep,” says Lisa Artis of The Sleep Council. “Anyone who has ever slept in a really comfortable or really dreadful old bed will know how it can affect the quality of sleep.”

Did you wake up this morning with aches and pains? Well, you’re not alone. Recent research by the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) found that nearly one in three people experience back and neck pain after a night’s sleep. The survey also found that one third (33 per cent) of people only change their mattress once every ten years, despite recommendations by The Sleep Council to do so every seven.
Now that the Christmas festivities are over for another year, many of us are turning our attention to making New Year Resolutions for the incoming year. Whether it’s giving up something or starting afresh with a new regime, there’s no better resolution to make than promising yourself a great night’s sleep.
